INTRODUCTION
I am a second year graduate student in Computer Science at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana hoping to pass out from here with a Masters in Computer Science. I started nurturing these hopes in August 2008 when I joined the program. My research interests include fault-tolerance in high performance distributed systems, networked systems design and ordering mechanisms in publish/subscribe systems. My work at Purdue includes high performance stream based processing, publish/subscribe systems and large scale causal order broadcasts. Added to my strong interest in my area of research, I enjoy investing in stock markets and have just found a new interest in learning Spanish (although I hardly find time for it).
Apart from research, I enjoy systems development and experimenting with new programming platforms catering to a wide variety of applications.
I am currently working with Prof. Patrick Eugster. We are investigating the main challenges involved in a topic based publish/subscribe systems where topics are divided into subtopics and events are disseminated using gossips. We are also looking over the gossip based ordered multicasts for distributed systems.
Starting my sophomore year (2005), I had worked at Center of Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Vehicles (CARIV), Delhi College of Engineering, University of Delhi developing a Quad Rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle which was awarded the 'Best Design Innovation' Award at the International Aerial Robotics Competition 2006, held at Fort Benning, Georgia, US.
During my undergrad, I also worked with Prof. Kenneth Birman (Cornell University) developing content distribution applications on top of Quicksilver Scalable Multicast.
I received by B.E in Computer Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, University of Delhi, India. As a graduate student at Purdue, I have been a research assistant with Prof. Eugster since Fall 2008. I have also interned at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore during summer 2007 and Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi during Winter 2006 and National Informatics Center (NIC), Delhi during Winter 2005.

January 2008: Participated in COMSWARE (Conference on Communication Software and Middleware) 2008 in Bangalore.
17th August 2007: I have been offered a job as a software engineer at Yahoo! India R&D Centre, Bangalore in the products division.
