Research

The relentless quest for connectivity among devices as well as ensuring the security of such networks has made such systems exceedingly complex. The increasing complexity makes it difficult to further improve the performance of such systems. The primary motivation of my research is to discover novel approaches to increase the performance and security of such systems.

Ad hoc Networks

An ad-hoc network is a self-configuring network of mobile routers (and associated hosts) connected by wireless links—the union of which form an arbitrary topology.

The primary aim of my research is to study data routing performance in such networks, develop novel routing approaches as well as discuss the issue of security in the routing protocols.

High Performance in Wireless Networks

High Performance has always been an issue with wireless networks. My work is primarily concerned with Fairness i.e. allotment of wireless channel time to nodes and Scheduling i.e. queuing mechanisms of data packets in a network. The work has been primarily focused on large scale enterprise wireless networks.

Distributed Systems

The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) paradigm for building distributed systems has become extremely popular and has received increased attention from all over the world. The main advantage of the paradigm is that it allows the construction of systems with unprecedented size and robustness, mainly due to their inherent decentralization and redundant structures, and it enables the utilization of vast amounts of resources available on machines connected to the Internet.
